As a result, the import risk of recycled particles increases.
In 2019, China's recycling market was greatly impacted by imported recycled particles. Domestic recycled PE processing manufacturers face significant resistance in terms of inventory, with high spot inventory and continuously decreasing sales prices, resulting in severe pressure on production profits. In addition, due to the lack of relevant standards for recycled particles, the quality of imported recycled particles varies, and the recycled particles flowing into China take advantage of cost advantages to compete significantly with domestic recycled particles. At the same time, as Southeast Asian countries gradually introduce policies to restrict the import of waste plastics and strengthen domestic environmental inspections, many recycled material owners who previously went out have returned to China to produce recycled plastics, making the competition in the recycled plastic market more intense.
At present, the draft of domestic standards for recycled plastic pellets has been formulated, and industry insiders are paying high attention to the implementation of this standard, especially importers. Once the customs strictly follow this standard, the import of recycled particles may face significant risks.
